Social Media is Not Non Profit

Aaron: We started this discussion with the topic of how social media is not ‘non-profit’ – what do you mean when you say that? Talk with us about the idea of social media being a ‘for profit’ business activity.

Terry: You always see that one post people put up saying “like or share my page to make sure you see my posts” Does that work to keep posts in followers’ feeds?

Aaron: If someone knows any buzzwords about marketing, they know ‘ROI’ – what they really want to know is, ‘is social media marketing really worth paying for’ Let’s talk about paid social media ads vs. other methods of advertising in terms of costs, effectiveness, and what makes it different from other marketing channels.  (cost/targeting/effectiveness)

Terry: One of the strengths of Social Media is the ability to define an audience; Let’s talk more about how you can target specific groups with social media advertising.

Aaron: Decorators often hesitate to put in that first investment because they aren’t sure they’re ready to take the plunge- What does someone need to know before they start advertising on social media?
