Start Your Own Decorating Business
Today’s show is a continuation all about different decoration methods and how to get started… We have talked a lot about the details of different things in the industry, but never really about how to really get started, so lets basically start at the beginning.
Last week we talked Screen Printing and Sublimation, and we just got started with Embroidery.
Embroidery
Aaron: When you talk with potential customers at the trade shows, are you directing them to single head machines to learn the trade, or straight to a multi-head machine?
Terry: So Andrea, if there was an average startup embroidery shop, what equipment and supplies will a new operator need to buy?
Aaron: Here’s the million dollar question… or hopefully less… what’s the price tag on this average setup?
Direct-to-Garment
Andrea: Terry, it’s your turn again. Let’s talk direct-to-garment printing now. Give us a little background on this printing technique.
Aaron: What markets and materials are best suited to direct-to-garment printing?
Andrea: Let’s give the listeners a breakdown of the must-have equipment necessary for this decorating method.
Aaron: I know prices range all over the board, but what does it cost to get started?
Vinyl Cutting
Terry: OK Aaron, let’s talk cut vinyl. First cutting isn’t limited to garments, tell us about the substrates a new vinyl cutter could decorate.
Andrea: What is it going to take for a new user to learn this process?
Terry: Somebody walks into your booth and says I need a full vinyl cutting setup, what is the list of equipment and supplies you’re going to sell them?
Andrea: What’s the price range a new customer will pay to get setup?
***We ran out of time AGAIN so will wrap up this series in 2 weeks***
