Rather than just cover a single news item, I want to say this; though we are seeing some rough news like the layoffs and furloughs at Alphabroder, I’m also seeing tons of businesses shifting gears to provide social distance signage, alternate lines of promotional products for folks staying home, and providing more online ways to connect and educate. People are really reaching out. That said, here’s a fun piece I shared on Facebook this week:
The Button Project – When COVID-19 cases began rising in Nashville, masking became a regular part of life across Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Children’s Hospital as one of several public health safety measures to protect employees and patients from potential COVID-19 exposure. Aaron: What do you think the current climate has changed about content marketing and the importance of video?
Erich: As much as I’m tempted to try to drag the entirety of your presentation out of you for our listeners, I know we can’t cover everything; that said, I’d like to start with some basics before we get to execution- can you share with us the primary goals of content marketing and maybe a little about how video helps us achieve these goals?
Aaron: So we know why we want to do video, but many of us don’t know how to get started; what do you think overwhelms people most when they first think about adding video to their content?
Erich: Once people are past those initial hangups, what should their first steps be to get set up for content marketing? What are the actionable things they need to do before they start publishing to make it worthwhile and what sort of content should their first videos cover?
Aaron: I think many people don’t quite get what they should be showing in their videos; I know one of the coolest ones I heard about from your presentation was the ‘Customer Commercial’ -making the customer the hero of the store. Can you tell us more about that and some other types of videos you think are most important for businesses to produce?
Aaron: We’ve talked about all manner of videos, but how does the current spate of live content fit into this content marketing mix? Does pre-recorded video and live event video have different effects, and what do you think businesses should be doing in the live streaming space?
Erich: If people are looking for help getting themselves set up in this space, what should they look for, and what can a production company like yours offer in getting businesses active in content marketing?
Erich: It’s been awesome having you on, Jason; Thank you so much for your time and all the awesome information. Why don’t you leave us with one last tidbit; What’s the single thing you’d like to leave the audience with on the subject of content marketing and video?
Aaron: Where can the Regulators find you and your company if they’d like to hire you on?
